Every mini, from sprue to shelf
Painting progress is invisible while you are doing it. A month of evenings feels like nothing until you count what got finished. Hobby Armory gives every miniature a step, then turns those steps into a picture of the year.
- Five steps per model
- The Workbench
- Goals and streaks

Five steps, because the hobby has five steps
A miniature is not done or not done. It is bought, then built, then primed, then painted, then finished, and most collections have models at every one of those points at once. Hobby Armory tracks all five, per miniature, not per box.
That matters more than it sounds. If you painted six of a ten model squad, a tracker that only knows boxes calls the box unpainted, which is wrong and demoralising. Here the squad reads as six painted and four to go.
- Each model on its own, or the whole unit in one tap
- Based and 3D printed markers beside the steps
- Your own tags and photos on any unit

The Workbench: what is on your desk tonight
Put the models you are working on onto the bench and say what you are doing to them: assembling, priming, painting, basing or sealing. The home screen shows what is in flight and how long it has been there.
Anything sitting for over 30 days is marked as stalled, so the half primed squad from spring does not quietly vanish.

A timeline for the models you painted years ago
Every step of every model can carry the date it happened. Adding a collection after the fact, you can put each box back where it belongs, and the activity chart and monthly goal follow the corrected dates.

Goals that make the month visible
Set a monthly goal for how many models you want to buy, build, paint or finish. Halfway through the month you know whether you are on pace. Over a year the activity chart fills in month by month with your goal line across it, which is the thing people do not expect to care about and then check every week.
A streak counts the days you changed something in your hobby, and 89 achievements unlock as the collection grows.

It runs off your collection, so there is no data entry
You never type a model name. Over 3,000 Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, The Old World, Warcry and Underworlds sets are already in the app with the miniatures inside each box. You add a set by searching for it and the tracker has everything it needs.
From there it connects to the rest: the army builder knows which models in a list are painted, your paint recipes link to the models you finished, and the pile of shame shrinks on its own.
Paint tracker questions
Is there an app to track Warhammer painting progress?
Yes. Hobby Armory tracks every miniature through five steps, bought, built, primed, painted and finished, model by model rather than box by box. It is free during the beta on Android and iOS.
Can I track each miniature in a box separately?
Yes. Each model carries its own step, so six painted out of a squad of ten reads as six painted and four to go. Whole units can be moved in one tap when you did them together.
What is the Workbench?
The Workbench holds the models you are working on right now and what you are doing to them: assembling, priming, painting, basing or sealing. It shows how long each has been sitting there and flags anything stalled for over 30 days.
Can I enter when I painted something in the past?
Yes. The Timeline in each set lets you set the date of every step for every model, which is handy for a collection painted before you had the app. Your activity chart and monthly goal follow the corrected dates.
Does it have painting goals and streaks?
Yes. Set a monthly goal for how many models you want to buy, build, paint or finish and track it on a year activity chart. A streak counts the days you changed something in your hobby, and achievements unlock as the collection grows.
Does it work for Age of Sigmar, The Old World, Warcry and Underworlds?
Yes. Painting progress works the same in every system, including any game system you add yourself.
It all runs off one collection
